Default Motiva in ABQ, NM?

Has anybody gone to get their vette tuned there? I live in El Paso Texas and no one can tune my cammed c6z. This is the closest location (4 hours away) but I wanted to get more feedback on it, if anyone can let me know it'll be greatly appreciated.

I have not heard good things.

I would goto Sean@Solid Tech, or one of the other good ABQ tuners before Motiva.

Im taking my blown, cammed, methed c6 z06 to ivan @ Southwestspeed in Rio Rancho, NM today for a tune. Ill follow up with the results.

Little Background: bought the car a week ago from back east and am lowering the boost (11psi to 4-5psi) and adjusting for the altitude.

Just wanted to update. Ivan @ southwestspeed was awesome. Changed the d1sc pulley ( 4.00 to 4.68) and removed the methanol for 50:50 and retuned the car. I couldn't be happier. Went from 755/675 @ 0' elevation where it was bought to 650/575 @ 5000'. I highly recommend him.

What made you go and get the car tuned? How was it running before the tune, any problems? If any..

My concern was the altitude change (0 ft to 5000 ft) and pulley change. Also moving from 100% methonal to 50%.

I believe you will regret going to Motiva… I did. Even though I have had HPTuners for years, after I installed my supercharger I took my car there because I did not want to spend the time relearning to tune. Luckily my car did not blow up but it was definitely not running correctly.

When I got my car back it was acting very erratic to say the least. For instance: I was getting a lot of audible knock which certainly angered me to no end. When I would come to a stop in traffic the RPM’s would shoot to 2000 – 2500. After sitting at idle for a minute or so, the car would start loping like a wild cam. Usually this would lope so bad that it stall the car.

Unfortunately, after this is when I learned of Sean at Solid Tech Performance and I must say I was thoroughly impressed with the outcome not to mention the cars he has produced are nothing short of impressive. I have also spoken with Ivan at Southwest during the Hyde Park event plus seen several of the cars he has worked on and I also believe he does some top notch work.

Though I could go on and on to point out several bad things about Motiva and their work I do not wish to bash them. However… my honest opinion is if you have an GM (or Ford) there are way better choices that will not leave you wondering if your car will blow up.
