Default "Check Engine/service engine soon" after exhaust and filter install

Hello folks,
I had the shop install my B&B X-pipe and Corsa Sport a few weeks ago, on my 2009 C6. Along with this I purchased and installed a "Blue Attack" filter.

Weeks after both being installed, I get a "check engine light/ service engine soon"

So, I am in the market for a reader as I feel the code(s) are related to the upgrades.

Any comments or suggestions would be appreciated.

probably codes from your down stream o2 sensors. you'll need them turned off.

Will this affect smog in California?

Bummer, this is such a disappointment. After reading many post on here, I cannot understand how this will trigger a service engine soon light with no modificatios to the O2 or cats...

sorry...I gave you some bad info. if you do not have long tubes you may be ok. but you need to read the codes to see if you need a tune.

Sorry, it is the "service vehicle soon" light that came on. No codes were founds. That car's idle is a hair off, as we can feel it. The scanner monitored each cylinder however, no misfire was noticed.

We are really lost here guys.

I will be changing the plugs and wires this week, as the car has 80k on the stock ones. In hopes that it will address the slight miss during idle.

check your connections and clamps. Check the mass, make sure it is in correctly & seated. I bet you have an air leak.

Thank you, I will look into this weekend.

You guys/gals save me more money than "geico insurance"!

If downstream o2's will probably show P0420 or P0430 code. When viewed by data in a scanner it will be a fairly smooth transisiton compared to the Upstream 02's. When the Downstream 02's match or come close to matching the Upstream you get this insufficient flow code. If this is the case and everything else is ok you can (cough, cough) weld another 02 bung on top of the stock one for the downstream. Pulling the 02 out of the exhaust a tad bit may keep the light off. Usually the light will not come back on for some time if you didn't do this and just cleared it. Only way to tell if it will work is watching the data right after you modify it.

Just thinking outside the box. We don't have emissions here, but I have done it to others to keep the stupid light off. Lemme know what you find out.

Thanks guy/gals for all the imput.

I had a local shop install a set of Taylor 10.5mm wire and a new set of AC Delco plugs in hopes of addressing the service soon light and the idle.

The idle is still a bit off. However we finally found a code and it related to the steering unit. The local Chevolet dealer was the last to work on it. So back to the dealer it is.

If the idle problem gets fixed, I will update the post.

If you don't have a CARB EO# on the filter, it won't pass the visual inspection. I just had that problem. I would search the forum for smog check friendly stations.
