Default Fan settings info

I have a 05 LS2 with 107.000 miles. I recently purchased a I tune and have loaded the 91 tune looking for recommendations for fan settings to give me the best fuel Mileage and HP with my daily driver. Here in SC extreme Heat and Humidity and my temps run average 200 degrees. Thanks in advance of any help! AGP45

Re adjusting fan settings will NOT make your car run cooler unless you also change your thermostat to a lower opening temperature than stock
A stock thermo opens at 195* usually so making the fans come on before 195 is useless as the coolant isn't circulating yet
Best you can do with a stock thermo is to have
Fan 1 ON at 200 *and OFF at 198*
Fan 2 ON at 205* and OFF at 199*
NOW install a 160 or 180 thermo you can set the fans much lower
Fan 1 ON at 190* and OFF at 185*
Fan #2 ON at 195* and OFF at 186*

can not change the fan temp settings anyway on 2005 and newer vehicles... can only change the percentage of power that they run at, starting at 192* and higher..

Also must mention that 2005 C6's only have one fan.

200 degrees is very good IMO. I wouldn't bother messing with it if that's all you're seeing.

With the stock OS the lowest temp you have any controllability over the fans is at 192*, as already stated.. You set the fan "Level" for different engine coolant temps. 192 is the lowest temp you can adjust. Settings entered for 192 will apply to 192 and under. I set mine to ramp up from 192 to max around 210-212. You don't really want them running wide *** open all the time or you'll end up frying one of the fan power connectors even quicker than normal.

Honestly, I wouldn't bother messing with it

OK -- I was thinking of C5 fan settings-----A C6 has fan settings that are quite different that go by PWM or a % at a certain coolant temp---Again the table starts at 192* so if your car has a 195 thermo you won't get any cooling benefit by having the fans come on before the thermo opens----Some C6's though have a 185* thermo so then yes you can make the fan come on sooner than the stock on temp in the stock tune file

200F is normal and optimal operating temp.

I would just leave it.

I set mine so that it stays within 190-205.

Even now in the summer, after a drive and i sit at a light, it will stay at around 203-205.

Then i can get it to as low as 188 cruising the highway. This is when it's about 85 degrees out.
