Fuel guage sensor Engine code!!!! 2009 C6 Basr Coupe.
Here's my issue.
I have the Dreaded "Service Fuel System" message and Check Engine light. I just bought my corvette and plan to tune it so I aimed for the lowest price / high milage "Clean" C6 I could find.
Bought it in AZ 88k miles. Incredible service records and one owner car. BUT!!!! I live in California. LA
I did not realize the Fuel sensor issue would be a "SMOG" certification issue.
I tried the Techron and it sorta works except for when I fill the car to the TOP! Then it goes wonky for 50 miles and comes back and works great everywhere below that and the light goes out but the code remains.
HOW LONG (without the check engine light coming on) will the code for the fuel guage sensor stay in the car?
This is a silly, and truthfully "NON-EMISSIONS" Emissions issue that I'm getting frustrated with. And It's really not worth the cost of $2400 to fix just yet when there's more fun stuff to put my money into.
Please HELP!!!

If you're having it tuned anyways I bet they can disable that code. I'd have to check.. but I'm almost sure they can.

I found this to be an issue with Hess gas here on Long Island.
I the code will clear after about 5-10 start/stop cycles from what I have seen.
You have a few shops in LA that can most likely remove the code from appearing.

I tuned mine out and the gauge started working again. Now the accuracy of the gauge may be in question, but at least its not showing empty all the time.
