Dyno tune vs Street tune

Dyno tune vs Street tune
I've read some threads talking about a Street Tune
I know what a dyno tune is. I have a another car, (track car), Megasquirt, Wideband O2 and Tuner Studio. I've had that car dyno tune and fiddle myself with Tuner Studio.
What's a street tune? I'm guessing a mail order tune you upload though OBDII port?
If so are they any good? For my previous car (997) - all it did was shut off the CEL. Waste of money for that car.
Thanks
J

usually the street tune will get your car to the dyno. lol I've done the email tune thing and it's **** compared to an actual dyno tune. Don't even waste your time. only other street tune is as stated before where the tuner will take the car out after the dyno run.

Street tune=tune on street in real world conditions
Dyno tune=tune on dyno, eliminates need to break law and gives easy place to do 50-150mph pulls
IMO a street tune is actually a better tune, as it is real world, simulates load correctly, and is what you want in the end. A dyno is just a tool because most people don't have a private runway or option to do full pulls on a street to properly tune it.
The idea that a dyno tune is better than a street tune is completely false. It maybe, or may not. I much rather have a street tune given the choice over a dyno tune.
Think of a dyno tune vs street tune as training for a marathon on a treadmill vs running on the street. Treadmill takes away risk of getting hit by car, and is indoors so weather doesn't matter, and gets you close, but it isn't exactly the same as actually running on the street.
I would head to CMS for a tune in that area.

Just rent a race track for a day and fly in your tuner. I hear the Circuit of America's is under $50k a day, or you can be a cheap-o and get Sebring for $12k a day during the week. That's a bargain. hahaha

Never understood why people think a dyno pull has any bearing on real world conditions.
