Safe to Start 402 Stroker before Tune?
Background:
I have a 2005 Corvette Z51 6 Speed, I bought it 6 years ago, and it came modified. A few months back that engine died, you can see pics here.
Since then, I have worked with TSP to build a 402 Stroker, and just this week got the completed engine back from the machine shop - and I'm ready to install it this weekend.
My Question Is:
Will it be safe to start the new engine with the the tune from the previous build? And do some loading for break in prior to driving to the tuner?
I had originally planned on reading the current tune, sending it to Tom Wong (my tuner) for quick modification - and then flashing it back in preparation of the first start. But I'm unable to read the PCM w/o the engine in the car. (Thread about this issue here)
Thanks,
Dan
