Default sct tuner came w/eforce: adjust fan controls?

I got the sct tuner that came with the eforce kit laying around.
While I am still on the fence regarding which tuning software to buy I read something that mentioned the sct handheld tuner can do a few things.
I'm afraid to mess anything up so didnt try it (I have a custom tune now)

What Id like to do is raise idle a bit and change fan start/percents

Timing at idle would be nice too but not expecting too much.

Thanks

Check their website for what your unit can do. The X4 will do what you want.

The new HP Tuner software is not for the faint of heart. lol
It will take some time to master. However, the changes you mentioned should be fairly simple.

New hptuners is no harder than old. It is super simple for most changes and people should not be affraid of it.

Thats like someone asking to change tire pressure on their car and saying how modern corvettes are really complicated and have all sorts of new cool technology. While that is true if he is getting into the motor, it shouldn't scare someone off from changing tire pressure. HP tuners is only as complicated as you want it to be.

As I said "the changes you mentioned should be fairly simple" but "it will take some time to master" the software. The new software is no harder than the old, but it took some time to master it.

Well, I got off the fence and sent for the HP Tuners. Based only on what I have read, chosen over the efi live software. Besides I checked out the hp tuners forum they have allot of activity.
Just raising idle alone....and trying to cool down the temps at idle by making other adjustments will be worth the $650.00 in comparison to
taking a day or more running to a "tuner"
I am actually a bit nervous about learning the HP tuners even though I have an above average mechanical background.
Any good reads or threads would be appreciated. Thanks guys

The HP Tuner forum has numerous "how to's".

Thats good cause I am looking for a writeup on simply rasing idle, maybe trying to cool a few degrees while in traffic too.
The HP tuners software just got here today!

Those two things shouldn't be an issue at all. There's 2 or 3 idle tables. You'll find them, if not post on HPT forum.

Fans are easy too--there are two tables. One is fan % based on engine coolant temp, the other is fan % based on AC system pressure. Highest one of the two wins.

Don't go over 90% and don't go crazy making the fans run at 90% all the time unless you like burning up fan control module connectors
