Default 2005 cylinder volume

Can anyone tell me why the cylinder volume on the 2005 LS2 is set for 5.7 liter instead of 6 liter?

It's wrong from the factory but doesn't matter--probably just carryover from LS1/6

GMVE used on gen 4's already has cyl volume baked into it so the cyl volume field doesn't do anything anymore

A 5.7 engine has a cylinder volume of 43.22 C.I.
PS why do you need to know ? are you swapping engineands or ECM's?
Because there are also many other tables that MUST be adjusted when swapping to a 5.7 engine or to a 5.7 ECM from a 6.0 ECM
Mainly the VE table is hugely different as are all the timing tables----Idle airflow tables- and most all the compensation tables for things like A/C--cold starts--shifting from P/N to drive etc

The OP was apparently noticing that the E40 ECM in the 2005 shows a value just shy of 5.7 L for cylinder volume when the engine is actually a 6.0. Schpenxel then explained why it doesn't matter.

We are done here.
