Default What tuner should I buy for 2005 C6?

I just bought a 2005 C6 LS2 and I want to buy a handheld Tuner

I had one for my mustang with unlimited free tunes I would fill out a form online whenever I changed a part and they would email me new tunes.

I'm looking for one with the same concept so whenever I change a part I can get an updated tune. (hopefully for free)

Any Recommendations? Or what site or company to buy from?

I'm surprised no one has chimed in. I can't speak from personal experience, but I hear Diablo has the capabilities you are talking about with DiabLew tune. Hopefully others with experience will chime in.

Me, I bought HP Tuners Pro.

Check out the i2 or Trinity, they will do what you are looking for, and wake that C6 up nicely

yes, I can definitely get you hooked up with an inTune i2 or Trinity for your car... plus I do custom tuning for them as well..

For those of us who do not have any idea how to use nor the time to learn HP tuners you can't go wrong using a Diablo and Lew for a car that has mild mods such as Headers and a CAI ...

If you have an A6 make sure you load the TCM tune ....you will be glad you did

Disagree. If you can start a car, you can plug in HP tuners and hit upload. Just as easy or easier than a handheld. If you can't do that, you can't operate a car.

Only valid reason I could see is if you don't have a laptop/pc to use with HP, adding to the cost.

Uploading the tune is not the problem .... it's knowing what to modify in the tune ......

I'm suggesting buying HP tuners, then having one of the 100000x people who mail order tune them do it and use it to load the tune. That is no different than having the 1 or 2 people who use diablo/sct do it. There is a much much larger support base and choice of tuners, and later, if you want to tweak it yourself you have that option instead of having to rely on a tuner to tweak it for you. Its a win win win win besides the initial cost.

I did not know that you could do a mail order tune with HP Tuners ....never to old to stop learning new things

For as powerful a tool as it is I don't think the price is that bad .

For my next move .... installing a cam I am going to go this route ,not because I don't want someone else tuning my car , it's because I want to learn how to do it myself .....

Thanks Unreal !!

There are more mail order tuners for HP than any other platform. Thats why I suggest it, it doesn't lock you into one tuner. Plus you can see what they are doing with each rev, and make tweaks yourself if you want.

You can do mail order, but file ends up having to be licensed on both ends. Not a big deal for people who do a bunch of tunes though as they usually have unlimited licenses by now. Does make it difficult when trying to help someone remotely though

I want you to teach me

I am going to look into getting a wide band ..
I can do all the installation work and have all the tools I need but when it comes to the tune ...

Not like the old days ....install cam ,degree it... install heads , jet the carb ... make sure you have enough tire , converter and gear .

It's so much more precise now.. being able to change fueling and ignition timing down to 1-2% or 0.5* pretty much for any conditions.. pretty neat.

Wideband isn't a bad install, just have to add another bung if you don't already have an extra (can use rear one if you don't have cats)

OP sorry for hijacking your thread
I have Cats ,will the wide band come with a bung that I can get welded in to the collector or do I have to buy it separately?
Can you recommend a wide band ?

Should come with a bung, if not they're on Amazon prime for next to nothing

Are you going to just be using the gauge or do you need an analog out to tie into something like dash logic?

I'm using AEM 30-0333 right now. It's fast but only output it comes with is OBD by default (which works great with HPTuners but not dash logic). If you just need the gauge then it doesn't really matter

AEM 30-0333 is what I've been running, I like it, haven't had any issues with it and it's fast, so that's probably what I'd get

The kit will come with O2 sensor, bung, wiring and gauge (which is the controller on AEM's)
