Yellow or Red
I have a MY coupe and its time to paint the callipers. Does anybody have pics of yellow or red on a MY. I think the yellow will be too off to look good? Maybe leave it black then, red is so bling on yellow.

I have MY and painted my calipers red. Yes, it's the most common color, but I think it's one of the best combos.
IMO if you decide to paint the calipers, the color must contrast with your body paint in order for them to stand out. Therefore, I didn't want to paint them yellow. I also didn't want black or chrome/silver, simply because black woud hide the calipers, and chrome/silver would blend in with the wheels/rotors. So red it was
PS the picture in my profile is before I painted them red.

also with MY, I first painted my calipers black - looked great IF you noticed it - but that rarely happened.
Painted them a second time in red, am happy.

Question for anyone. I have a MY Coupe and would also like to paint the calipers. From the after market catalogs, I see there are spray cans and I think I saw a can for brush on painting. Which did you guys use and what was the source?
I also see that I would have to buy a low profile floor jack to get the wheels off to paint the calipers. Right? So, to use the spray paint, I get a jack, pull the wheel, mask everything as best as possible, spray the thing and wait until dry. Reassemble the wheel and go to the next wheel.
Anyone try to keep the "Corvette" emblem on the front calipers?

you can scrape the paint off the lettering and it comes right off.
I think I'm going to add some red into the yellow to get closer to MY, not much, just enough to darken it up.
Those yellow caliper paints are bright.

I know I am showing my ignorance here but are Red or Yellow the only 2 colors to consider?
Is it that those 2 colors are the most visible?
Are there any rules?

I vote for red.
the Duplicolor caliper paint kit only comes in a few colors: red, yellow, black I think, maybe one other.
you can find the kit at Auto Zone. Using a good brush (don't use the one that's in the kit) will save you from having to mask off lots of stuff, save you from overspray troubles.
you can see details at my web page, just click on "Calipers."

I would like to see an ebony gray, similar to the gray in the interior but glossy and metallic from Duplicolor.I think it would look nice behind the painted or polished wheels, sort of an enhanced factory look for us really conservative codgers. It should show better than black as well.
