LAPD. I was buying a bunch of other stuff from Shawn, and added a magnetic drain plug to the order.

Default magnetic drain plug

Has anyone ever found anything on the magnetic oil drain plug during an oil change?

In another post someone mentioned this and said that these magnetic plugs were useless since the block is aluminum, and aluminum will not stick to a magnet.
Any thoughts on this anyone?

The crankshaft, connecting rods and bolts, timing chain and gears, camshaft, lifters, pushrods, rocker arms, valve springs, valve spring keepers, piston rings, and oil pump gears are just some of the components that i can think of off the top of my head that are metal/iron that are magnetic.

To make a long story short, I found the dowel pin that goes in the front of the camshaft for the cam gear alignment on my magnetic drain plug. It happened because of the idiot who assembled my engine from the factory didnt tighten the cam bolts down enough or use loctite.
