When you start modding for qtr mile ET you probably need to look at your sequence. Most won't go to the expense of the UD pulley until they do a cam due to the labor being so expensive for such a minimal gain. DR's are great but I would go to the track a few times and make sure you need them. Fluids, not sure what this can do for you ET wise, I know of no fluids that will make your car go any faster than stock. The cat back is a great mod if you want a louder exhaust but not worth it for an ET improvement mod.

Here is how I would start with mods to get into the 11's.

When available a high stall TC and 2.73's (By the way, I would let a few people do this mod before I jumped in head first on it)
Honker or vararam intake
Long tube headers
DR's

This will put you in the 11.9s on a good day.

Oh, by the way I don't own a C6, but I did stay in a holiday in last night.

What he means is that he doesn't own a C6 "yet". We are working on him though.

Hey Rick, whats up? Actually things seem to be looking pretty good for my plan of having another vette by spring. I would love an A6 verte or coupe.

Fluids, not sure what this can do for you ET wise, I know of no fluids that will make your car go any faster than stock

Many report 8-10 RWHP gains after swapping fluids over (oil trans dif) less friction = more RWHP
LG has a post with redline do not remember the exact #'s
Horsepower tv got ~8.9 RWHP with Royal Purple fluids (LS1).
I have read others but dont recall details.

Great bang for the buck mod IMO.

SoldSyclone, I am a little skeptical of those claims. Just my opinion though.

Well, if the intake is a FAST with direct port nitrous running a 200 shot, then you might dip under 12. But an air cleaner housing isn't going to do it. Undersize pulleys won't do it. No magic fluids are going to help. Headers and drag radials will help, but not enough.

DRs and opening the top end.
heads, cam, UD pulleys, headers and a good tune should hit 11s, Id expect.

if you can cut a 1.5-1.6s 60ft...the extra power should push you to 11s.

SoldSyclone,

No, I've seen Z06's with only 355-360 minimum run 11.90's. Then again, I've known of other Vettes with 500 rwhp that could not run 11.90's and that's because of the wrong set up and poor driving skills. From what I have been hearing from people at the track, the C6' probably needs, a Calloway Honker CAI, long tube headers, X-pipe or high flow cats, a set of Borla Stingers or your choice, and most of all a good tune. Tuning in crucial for this particular car for some reason. Some people are getting as much as 20 rwhp and then others are getting as little as 5hp. It all depends on the tuner and application. I would say 375 rwhp/365rwtq with track set up and exceptional driving skills. You would need at least 1.7 60' times to accomplish this task.

Tires, torque converter and tune will get you there at a sea level track in good weather. My 2000 ws6 formula went 7.89 at 87 mph on a 1.69 60' with a well matched converter 17" m/t drag radials and a 345 hp SS air lid.

Lusky I think you seem to be the most motivated to mod the A6. I encourage you to be on the cutting edge so that others may learn from you.

Actually I , I would rather let some other guys experiment first especially with the rear end and TC. But I would be real curious to see what a high stall and 2.73 rear end would do in the A6.

Damn near useless. Just get a high-stall torque converter.

TUNE
DRAG RADIALS or SLICKS
Good.

The right combo, tune and 60' is everything!

BTW I was being sarcastic about shopdogs post

I was thinking 380 RWHP may do it with a good 60' ET street may be needed.

I am willing to do all the little things to get the results, I set some records with My stock Turbo Syclone

Stock Motor, Trans, Turbo, etc
Only HP Mods: K&N, Cat back and a Tune
Best ET 12.42@106.8 most run 12.8-13.2.
BTW went 13.4 @ 100 bone stock

I was hoping you would chime in great combo

What do you think of 1st gear in the A6, will gears and or a stall be needed?

I run at Las Vegas Motor Speedway whick hooks but is at 2000'

I was thinking of leaving them stock and spraying out of the hole...

Would love to see a 10.99 on the spray!
