The 45044 has a 2 piece lever with rubber isolation in it. It should be quieter at asacrifice of some feel. Both claim a 33% throw reduction on a C5.
B&M Shifters
I would like more info too from someone who has experiance both. And the Hurst too. I love the Hurst on the ZF6 in my C4, but that's a different animal.
Will any of them take the stock shift ****?
Edit: This one looks like the 45044, says it takes the stock **** and is a good price.
Hurst shifter, Good price from Corvettes of Houston

Installed the Hurst, way too much vibration. I liked the shifting but could not handle the noise. Installed the B&M (45044) and it's great. No vibration, shorter throws and more precise.

This may save you some big trouble. I installed the B&M (45044 love it, corvettes of houston link has the best price $175 and Tbyrne link will price match) and on the box it says you can use the stock ****. I installed the shifter and went to put the **** on. It went about 2/3 of the way one and stopped. I called B&M and said WTF. The tech asked me to look at the flat spot and see if it was all black or had a silver machined area. Mine was all black, he said that was the first batch and they were all recalled to be machined so the shifter **** would fit. Boy was I pissed. I broke out the vac and a grinder and lengthened the flat spot while in the car about 1/2" and the **** went right on. If yours is all black try the **** and grind it while it’s out of the car if it does not fit. I have told this to a few and they saw you just need to thread it on but it’s tight. No No it's not designed to thread on, it designed to slip on just like the stock shifter.

I believe this has been fixed at this point (installed mine months ago and no problems), however, I did use a towel and a rubber hammer to get mine on...
Makes the car feel wonderful though!!

I decided to go with the 8-ball shift ****. Looks cleaner to me and more traditional.
