Top speed in each gear?
on a C6 6MN with Z51 option
First gear to redline is = ???mph
Second gear = ???
Third gear = ???
etc...
Real life numbers from track runs, of course.

I can say the A6 1-3 #'s are close but I have only been ~170 so have not needed 5th.
You can do the math for Z51
Gear ratios A6 effective........Z51 effective.....M6 effective
1........... 4.02.......10.29.......2.97 10.16 .......2.66 9.10
2........... 2.36.......6.04.........2.07 7.08.........1.78 6.09
3........... 1.53.......3.92.........1.43 4.89.........1.30 4.45
4........... 1.15.......2.94.........1.00 3.42.........1.00 3.42
5........... 0.85.......2.18.........0.71 2.43.........0.74 2.53
6........... 0.67.......1.72.........0.50 1.71.........0.57 1.95
Final drive............2.56................3.4 2................3.42

Sorry i don't get it?? can't be the speed in each gear? No way the 400hp C4 will do 56mph in 1st, nor 203 top speed??
Must be I'm dense!

So are these real ife top speed numbers? Given that top speed is drag limited from 214 to 189 per Chevy's claim, what are the REAL numbers per each gear?

'Kay,
I'll go out tomorrow and try to pull 51 mph in 1st. And if blow a rod or the tranny, I'll send you the bill.

On each gear go to about 3250 RPM, then multiply the speed by two. Works on every gear. Unfortunately the car will not redline on 5th and 6th gear. I believe on 5th, the car will top out at 186MPH at 6000 RPM

Not to worry. I've had mine bouncing off the rev limiter with no damage. But it's more fun to test the limiter in 4th.

And mine just bounces off the rev limiter no drama like older cars.

I would expect that the A6 would be a little slower though due to transmission loss. I can't see why the non-Z51 MN6 would be slower. The Z51 should be around 5,600 rpm at 186 and the non-Z51 at around 5,800 rpm -- hardly significant. BTW -- the A6 is turning around 5,100 at 186.

The HP/TQ combo at 5755 RPM in the Z51 is just enough to overcome air resistance at 186 MPH where the standard 5th gear ratio of .74 at 5899 RPM at 186 MPH can't be reached.
