Replacing rear shock

Replacing rear shock
Is the rear shock on a Z51 suspension the same as the standard suspension? An insurance adjuster told me there are two choices for replacement. A $95 shock or an $800 shock. I think the $800 shock goes with the adjustable ride suspension. Anyone know if there is another option?

I guess I just figured out what suspension system I'm not buying. Shocks don't last long in Alaska mainly due to the fact that it must sit in the garage for at least 5 months and the seals go bad in a hurry. I'm sure they are good shocks and are totally different in everyway but there is no freakin' way! Sorry to hi-jack your thread but I've been wondering about this for a little while now and this answered my own question unless someone has additional info.

Get what you already have unless you plan to replace all four.

If you are replacing the shock because the right rear was pounded into submisson and is leaking (as mine were), take the hint and upgrade to a better shock. The difference between my stock shocks and the LPE Konis is like night and day. Ride is smoother, handling imporved and wheel hop under hard acceleration has been eliminated
