Default FAST intake manifold gains for C6 Corvettes

Hi guys,

I know there has been a lot of talk about the FAST intake manifolds, and the gains if they are worth it or not. Many of you have seen these done before on a cam'd car or a cam and head car. To give you an idea of what this intake can do for you this is a comparison of two C6 Corvette's a 2006 and a 2007. Stock dyno's were within 5hp of each other (the '07 made 5 less) 357 vs 352 rwhp. Torque was within 5 as well.

Both cars have our LG Pro Long Tube headers, and LG tune. Run #9 is the 2006 car with just our headers and tune. Run number 19 is from the 2007 car with the same set of our LG Pro Long Tube headers, but features the addition of a FAST 90mm intake manifold. Take a look at the increase in torque, not just peak, but across the RPM range. Peak gains of 16rwhp and 21 ft-lbs. More gains can be found by porting the intake and throttle body as well.

We offer both porting services here as well.

Please feel free to call, email, or PM with any questions.

Many thanks for the dyno comparison. This is exactly the hard data we have been looking for. I will soon be adding LG headers with some other mods to be determined and will be in touch.

Anthony, who ports your TB and FAST 90's, and how much for each and a package discount for both?

And it can do better than this with additional work. In fact, mine needed 5 hours of my time with a dremel. My car dynoed 355 stock and 360 with a mild tweak SAE on a Dynojet, so right there with LG's figures. After Kooks LT thru stock catbacks, Vortex, 1.85 roller rockers, ported TB, and ported FAST90, the car made 427 RWHP with a conservative tune. Sean actually got 2 HP more, but backed off for 91 octane. Similar cars done by OC Corvettes minus FAST and TB (Kooks, rockers, CAI, tune)were just shy of 400. So from where I sit, the ported FAST + Sean's work on the TB were worth 27 HP alone. Not saying you'll see this if those are the only 2 mods you do, but with this combo, that's what it was worth.

Sean spent 3 hours + on the TB. There was a ton of work there. It is really a rough piece in stock form.

Default FAST intake in a supercharged application

My supercharger (A&A) goes in next week. Will the FAST have a bigger imapact in a supercharged application? Is it worth it to do when I am hopefully going to be near 575 - 580 range anyway.

When is somebody going to start selling this manifold premodified to fit the C6? I'd love to run one, but I won't cut the car to fit it.

Anthony,
For clarification, the 07 with the FAST was with or without porting in the above dyno?

Thanks for the hard evidence. Good to know. I would not have guessed a FAST would give 20 ft-lbs. HP increase, yes, but not nearly that much torque. Impressive.

The comparison was with a stock, out of the box, FAST no porting was done for these tests.

Anthony,

I heard your FAST install did not require modifications to the firewall, but to the FAST intake. Is that true? Are you shipping ported FAST or only installing them at your shop?

Question:

When people say they are "porting" their FAST manifold are they actually porting it or port matching it to the heads? Seems like the FAST would be pretty hard to make that much better.

I did not port match, nor did I "port" (enlarge) the runner. So no, I did not port the manifold in the normal sense.

What I did spend considerable effort on was cleaning up mismatched contours that would impede airflow or cause turbulence in the area where the three parts of the manifold mate up. This manifold needs a lot of work to clean it up. All of this becomes totally obvious once you remove the top piece.

As I indicated before, the place where it cleans up on the stocker or even a "ported" stocker is the plenum, which is baby-butt smooth with zero ridges and better transitions to the runners.
