My QTP cutouts are still going strong 8 years later.

I also like the new wireless controller you can get these days, it's an easy retrofit if you have the old school wired switch.

Keeping this thread alive as I still get questions about cutouts 8 years later...

Yes I do. However my friend in Sweden installed Qtp cutouts on his automatic, as have others. I think there are pics in this thread.

Hi Joe,

will have a look under the car next time lifted. Hopefully it is enough space to install the cut outs on a A6 same hidden way as on your M6. That looks great.

Cheers

Hi Lars,

I'm afraid its going to be tough to put them where I have them in an automatic car, my friend XZB had to put them behind the transmission on his A4, see pictures above. Same sound benefit, he now has them on his Raptor and his 69 Vette.

You can look to putting them in your mid pipe just behind where they join to the manifolds (if you don't have long tube headers). There is a space up there for cats but there were no cats in that space until 2012 I think. I've seen pictures of the rectangle cutouts placed there and it seemed to work fine.

Let me know if you need me to try and find pics and keep us posted on how you come out.

Wow I've forward this post so many times in the last 10 years.

10 years and my QTP cutouts are still going strong. Still one of my favorite mods.

I am strongly considering them for my car. But $950 for parts and install for just about zero power gain?

My cam only, full bolt on LS3 is WHISPER quiet with the stock non-npp muffler. The volume will be welcome! But I read I should expect no more than 6whp?! lmfao! I just don't have that kind of money for something so non-performance!

People pay a lot more than $950 for a cat back exhaust.

The factory mufflers flow great but are too quiet. I like my Prius quiet but my Vette needs to sound like a muscle car. I like the quiet or loud choice which cutouts give.
