Default who has the best price on ls7 z06 crate engine??

Who has the best price on the z06 crate motor, (putting it in a c6 VERT) including the battery relocation stuff needed and the oil thing that goes where the battery sits. Thanks (by the way I will be selling my ls2 that has 100 miles on it!! I just purchased the 07 vert and the engine will be complete and new. I think it goes for 5500 retail, let me know.

Default Thank You

Will call him on Monday! GM Parts direct has it on "sale" for 12,500 + 350 for shipping. I don't know if that is a good price or not, but I will def. call Joe on Monday. Thanks for the heads up.

It is, it's one of the best prices around but I don't think it includes the dry sump oil system (that "oil thing" that goes where the battery used to be that you referred to).

Batman, tell us more about your conversion. Did you buy the new engine from chevy or did you get one out of a wrecked car? What are the big challenges?

I purchased my ZZ502 from Scoggins Dickey in Lubbock for 2K less than anywhere else. They have a dedicated performance parts group of guys.

It was pretty straight forward...I bought the crate motor from Fred Beans because they had the best price at the time. I had to buy the motor, engine harness, drysump, brackets, battery cables, battery tray stuff, Air intake, MAF, Exhaust, etc. There is one clip on the new harness that you need to cut off and replace with the old harness clip, you need to cut the battery perch off the frame, drill a whole through the fire wall for the battery cable (it's already marked), if you have nav...you need to move the rear unit out of the rear compartment for the battery. There is one thing that I am still trying to figure out...there is no Engine Oil Level switch any more...so I still get a DTC for that. I need to figure out how to disable it through the wiring. I disabled it with HP Tuners...but that won't do it. I used my factory computer that Charlie from RPM sent me a tune for. It was an interesting project!

The car runs awesome...I had it on a Super Flow dyno which made 498.6 rwhp and 470 rwtq with the Callaway Honker, AR Headers, Corsa Cat back, LG driveshaft and HP Tuners. I don't really know how many hours...quite a few spread out over a couple of winter months! I did it half for the fun and half for the challange...no lift either! I used 4 jackstands, 3 jacks and an engine hoist!!! I also put pfadt coil-overs, sway bars, poly bushings, racing brake rotors, Z06 calipers, stainless brake lines, etc....
