You doing it yourself for the first time? Give 3 hrs.

How long does it take it you know what you are doing, have the tools, and with a helper - 2 hrs max.

If you are going to a shop - expect to "pay" for at LEAST 3.5 hrs. If they dont know the C6 they will probably try and charge you for 4-5hrs.

Thats good news for me...I was quoted 5 hours and $750 to install my kooks. Going to tackle the job myself and save some money.

Yeah, one 'corvette' shop around me wants two days of work for this. I thought it was too much. I saw some install guides on this forum - I will look around...

Its MUCH easier to if you have a lift. This is what I do for people in my area-

Find a buddy thats in the military (military installations have nice auto shops and lifts) and have them help you or find someone who has access to a lift and will let you borrow it for a few hours (bring a buddy!)

It shouldnt take you longer than 3.5 hours if you know a wrench especially if you are using such a high quality product such as LG.

Checkout this article. Installation is explained step by step. Seems the Kook's have even less steps then the ARH in this article. Good Luck.

I'll let oyu know when my kooks arrive, hopefully your estimates are right because it doesnt look like too tough a job if no bolts snap or any odd occurance.

thanks for the post to the install link

There was also one for kooks done by a magazine, I dont have the link but a google search may pop it up.

I've seen it here before at 3 or 4 hrs. When I did mine it took about 8hrs. and I have a 4 post lift. I changed cat back at the same time. I guess I'm just slow.

We did mine in a little over an hour, headers only. It will take an additional 2-3 hours with jack stands on a garage floor if you replace all the way to the rear and less than 2 hours if you have a nice lift.

Z06 with LG long pros took 7.5 hours at GM certified tech shop with ex-proracers installing. Working continuously no joke. I was there the whole time. Quite a job.

Get you some p-clamps for the o2 sensor wiring, some zip ties, an 02 sensor socket to remove the sensors from the stock manifolds, have one guy remove the pipes while another removes the covers, wires, and plugs, and it can be done easily in 3 hours on jack stands. Not much longer for one person. Takes longer to run and support the 02 sensor wiring than to install the headers themselves.

I used new stock gaskets instead of the ones that come in the kit, cleaned the stock manifold bolt threads of factory sealer pretty good, used antiseize. No problem so far with having to retighten the bolts.

Easiest header installation I have ever done. Love the LG Pros.

Joe
