C6 Seat Cover replacement
Does anyone have the info on how to swap out seat covers? Just bought aftermarket seat covers to replace the factory ones, and they didn't come with instructions. Does anyone have any experience with this? All advice/suggestions are appreciated.
Thanks,
Rich

Thank you SIR! F-16! You lucky dog! I have a client who flew SR's for many years.
Thanks so much for the link. I'll post my pics as soon as I get them on.
I got Black Suede exterior with factory perforated inserts.

Side airbag issue: Disconnect the battery before you disconect the electrical connection under the seat- thats all you have to do. Then reverse the process when you install them.

Also beware of any items that you may have plugged into a cig. lighter "port". Like a cell phone or other item that may have a battery. They may have enough to keep the capacitor (sp ck) charged.

Is there a special pair of pliers that you need when you work on the seats? Someone mentioned getting them at The Eastwood Company but I can't seem to find them.

From the advice of another member on this board I used zip ties instead of hog rings when replacing my seat covers and it saved so much headache!! Those hog rings are sharp and hard to work with.

I'm having mine done by a local upholsterer on Monday.I have some black skins,OEM,having them taken apart on the cushion and re sewn to my existing STEEL GRAY seat. For the 350-400 bucks it'll cost,I think it's worth it!So,if all goes well,Monday night I'll have two tone black and steel gray seats!

Thanks everyone. I guess I'll give it a try. Can you re-use the hog rings that are on the seats by removing them or do they have to be replaced because you have to cut them off? If they have to be replaced does anyone thats done this know how many you need?

Do they preserve the side air bag function, if you have 'em??

If you don't mind me asking, what did you do for that small piece of the dash to the right side of the glove box (it's about 1" wide)? I'm trying to decide if I should dye mine or if you can somehow purchase that piece. Thanks!

I left it Black. It seems to be rivited in place, and I never did find a part number for it. Harldly noticable when the doors are closed.
