This is getting out of hand.......The Callaway C16 Speedster is trick,If I had money to burn Id have one.I dont like all the Callaway stuff, dont really care for the Aero body work on the C4s but the first Callaway Speedster was over the top, nothing else like it at the time, and the few-1-?ZR1s Speedsters was a notch above that.If some here knew Callaway history or Corvette history for that matter maybe some of the comments wouldnt have gottin out of hand. The C16 Speedster has go to be the trickest Callaway yet,If you can afford one,you dont need to worry about a top.

I'm sorry, but that car is ugly and for me, useless. $300k? I'd rather have a lambo. That car has some HISTORY too.
Somebody makes a replica of old speedsters, and just that concept makes the creation Holy?? BS. And I had a '71 for a little while, so don't tell me I'm not paying attention to the vette lineage. And frankly, the ZR1 doesn't do it for me either. I remember when they came out - I respect them for the principal and recognize that at the time they were very special, hard to get, and quite a step above the vette... but from a performance standpoint they are not in the same league as today's supercars.
The most ridiculous thing I see with the Callaway car is they kept probably the worst part of the car - the dash waterfall. Add up what they did....$300k???? Get monster brakes, coilovers, a maggie 122 and a 427 stroker, and you don't come up with nearly that amount of dough. Add custom body panels...still not even close. Come on...at least either change the interior to a minimalist vintage replica, or trick it out like the interior of a Murcielago. Instead, they put in racing seats, some suade panels, a steering wheel, and a nameplate. Sheesh. Callaway can do some great things with vettes, but imho this aint one of em.
I'd rather have THIS creation that the callaway, unless I was able to sell it and buy something I really liked.

Uh, respectfully, Callaway's much-storied history ain't gonna help me one bit in staving off the laughter of random onlookers if I were to unsaddle from that nasty-lookin' bucket of armpits in public.
It's hideous.
Getting stuck in the rain and getting soaked would be a bonus because less people would be laughing at your complete lack of taste and good sense in buying such a monument to a designer infected with cranalanalitis.
