Default OBDII or CANBUS?

I have an OBDII PC connector that will access my 2003 Sonoma, but cannot communicate with the 2007 corvette. Is the corvette diagnostics now CAN-D?

Yes, the 2007 is a CAN interface therefore it will not work with normal OBDII items.

Yes it is. Cheapest place to get a scanner I've found is WalMart, the Innova model for CAN works fine on my 05.

...a good model would be the 3100A or even better the 3100C, there was an older model that was just labeled as the 3100....this model will not work. Or you can spend more money and get even a better unit in the 3400 series.

Here's another helpful link on the subject:

http://www.canobd2.com/knowledge/what_is_obd.asp

I have the mid-range Innova model and I like it.

Default AutoEnginuity

Thanks for all the great info. But I am using the autoenginuity PC setup. This allows me to graph + collect data for many system parameters. I am looking for more than just a code reader. The auto industry says CAN will be mandatory for 2008 vehicles. I have not been able to locate information on the type of busses installed in 2007 year vehicles.

You want HP Tuners then. Great Scanner integrated with the the PCM/TCM editor program.

You do not want a CAN only based scanner.
CAN is what is the newer generic EPA OBD standard
You want a scanner that does GMLAN and CAN

This is a must for a C6 so you can obtain all GM enhanced parameters and there is a bunch of them where CAN is slower data speeds and does not support other modules on the C6 that are on the GMLAN (network)

Best is a scanner that also does VPW so that if using with older C5s then it also would do GM enhanced and faster data rate then older OBD-II
Scanner I uise does all of those and sees everything in my C6 including airbag, HUD, Onstar.

Which scanner do you have that sees airbags, HUD, Onstar...? Will your scanner see those items and more on the 2005?
