Roller rocker arms any HP gains
Looking at some roller rocker arms with the stock 1.7 ratio, I allready have a mild cam, headers and such, 430rwh, I was told going to a good roller rocker arm would gain around 8hp has any one done this and did you gain any hp. If so what is a good rocker arm to go with

8hp? I doubt there's that much friction on the valve stem tip. Maybe a couple at best. Good practice to use them with a high lift cam to reduce wear to the valve stem. But I'd doubt there will be any noticeable hp difference. Maybe just a slight difference in valve train sound.

They cost a lot for the money you get. Also, some people like to say they put stress on the rods. If you want power without a cam (to keep it streetable), your better off saving the money for a good set of heads.

The stock rockers are very good out of the box. As a matter of fact. Other than the C6-R GT-1 car that uses jesel rockers, the CTS-V racecar and the GXP.R car are mandated to use stock factor rockers in the races. They have never had a rocker failure. I used them in my modded LS2, and use them In my forged LS3 stroked 427 motor with
L92 heads which must use the factory rockers because of the offset of the intake. No issues. Save your money for a mod than can increase performance. Some people change rockers and increase the ratio from the 1.7 to 1.75 or 1.8 thus increasing lift. Not much power there either without increasing duration. So again you're wasting money on something that isn't a good bang for the buck.

From all the horror stories i've read, heard, and been witness to, I don't think any shop will be able to convince me of aftermarket RRs unless absolutely necessary to drivetrain reliability.. I should note that most of these stories are not related to LSx motors, but still..... Just my opinion.

The rate of the lift changes too. Cranes variable rate lift rockers consiistently made 12rwhp on Tony Mamo's test mule. The rocker is not the same ratio along the entire arc it swings.
Since so many thought it was bible when chevy high performance said the L92's were the sheet why not their review of the crane quickies...
