It had to be the cam because the first motor never saw nitrous. It broke out of no where doing a burnout on my first pass of that day. And to make all matters better it was on mustang night lol. So I was getting a earful from the ford guys. I honestly thought an injector failed or a valve hit the piston but i still have the original injectors in it working perfect and the valves/valvetrain looked good. Minus the 2 valves in the cylinder being ever so slightly bent from all the little chunks of piston that got scattered through the whole motor. That first motor was always kind of a pig until I put some mods on it. Hence the 3rd slowest bone stock time.

mine was a pig too, did you do a long or short block, what could you salvage from the old motor?

Longblock. There was so much crap all over the motor and the head wasnt in the best shape either so just started over fresh. Had to get a new intake manifold too.

It's about damn time!
The C6 LS3 has been out for over 8+ years now and I still can't believe it's taken this long for a bolt ons only example to get into the 10.7s.
Congrats on some very stellar passes, David.

Yeah, kinda like deja vu all over again.(Yogi)
So maybe the requirement for LS3 boltons is to blow the original motor and then run at Sacramento with the replacement.

Lol wow that happened to you too? Well I guess that makes it the winning combo. Calling all bolt on ls3 owners, time to blow your motors, get a new longblock and run 10s.

11. Nursing the famous "clutch" which I believe is the master cylinder., tires work too good for it as well,. launched at around 3600rpm slipping clutch (carefully -- if slip too much it will SLIP all the way)-- then on gas WOT sooner then usual to get car launched prob around 10' mark... shifting to 2nd is sloppy., getting better 2 to 3 but loosing time on 1-2 and 3-4--- this car can run the 1/4 in 3rd with stock tires so will try that again soon

Kicking butt there. Just a cat delete away from 9's.

Side note: I still don't get why some tracks are so cheap and cut the timeslip in half.

^^^ Great times! Wow so close to single digits.

FYI they cut the slips normally when they are running no times. No boards and you can't see your opponent's times.

According to RPR website, the 4th was a legal street racing event and not a timed competition. Kinda like a free-for-all or TnT where there are no opponents. Even if you had opponents, why would it matter after the race was over? None of the 22 tracks where I've run issue half slips. Then again, back in the 50's/60's you'd get a Post-it size slip with only your car number, ET, and MPH hand written. Maybe I just need to expand my horizons.

They were running an event along with TnT. Houston's top 10 list or something like that. Cars had "PT", "NT", "List" on their windows. Though for the TnT cars they did show MPH and times on the board along with your reaction time. TnT prior to Grudge racing event at North Star no times for any cars on board had to go to tower give them your car number to get your time sheet which was cut in half. High stakes events with lots of betting going on.

Totally missed that aspect. I guess because everyplace I've been has either been a TnT or a legitimate organized competition.
They turned the boards off during the arm drop portion at Pinks All Out, but that was after all the guys with electronics got their 10 second car dialed in and the TV cameras were turned on. Viewers never saw the qualifying. Kinda funny watching 4 or 5 cars in a row posting up a 10.000 to qualify and then one guy a 10.001. I was in the 11.0 group and never stood a chance.
