Default Kooks with Extreme Jet Hot Coating Up Close and Personal

We sell a lot of headers coated..or uncoated. One request we get a lot is for good pictures of coated headers. Most people have never seen a Jet Hot Extreme Sterling coated header in person..so they want to know what it looks like before they spend extra money on it.

What I have done here is using a quality camera..I have taken pictures of a set of brand new Jet Hot 1700 degree Extreme Sterling coated C6 headers for your view pleasue.

You can order these headers with this same Jet Hot Coating, or any of Precision Motorsports coatings for FREE by taking part in our current sale posted here-

http://forums.corvetteforum.com/show...ylandspeed.com

We have these coated headers in stock and ready to ship today!

All the coatings we sell come with some for of warranty against flaking and corrosion.

-------------------------------------------------------------------
This is Kooks PT# 6600-EX coated in Extreme Steling coating. Also picture is the bolts, O2 Extensions, and Alumium Gaskets you get with the headers.

Same Headers from another angle

Up close and personal with the coating. I call it 7/8's chrome. It is not as brilliant and clear..but unless you less than a foot away you would never know.

This is the inside of the collector. All the coatings we do are done inside and out for extra thermal protection and coating longevity. The outside coating is polished, where the inside is not.

The complete package! This is the most popular combo we sell. It is Kooks 6600-EX (w/Coating), and Kooks 3 x 2.5" Crossover PT# 6608S (uncoated). This picture is great because it shows how much better the coated finish looks compared to the plain welded stainless steel X-pipe. Before the coating process, Jet Hot cleans the headers, and will remove and weldslag or imperfections they can without damaging the product.

On another note, we do not recommend coating the crossover because the extra thickness it adds makes it very hard to slide the extension pipes on the X-pipe. Also, once the exhaust is under the car, and out the engine bay the coating has done it's thermal job.

This whole setup runs only $1,699.58 w/ Free Coating and Shipping and is in stock ready to ship today! It should be the best price out there for this coated setup.

Is it possible to get the inside of all the pipes, X-pipe included, coated? While the headers do good at getting the exhaust out, the heat transfer from the pipes is the biggest reason we see coated tunnel plates. It makes more sense to coat the inside of those pipes to help reduce the heat issue.

How close can the coating work towards the cats in the attached tubes?

Edit: Wouldn't it be possible to contact Jet Hot and have them protect the connection areas during the coating process? I would think they would be willing to mask off those joint areas since I believe they have to protect the O2 bung threads as well.

Jet Hot prefers the coating be "Sealed" meaning on all surfaces...so they don't mask the connections. Also I have had issues with QC in the past when we have tried to have the mask of other things. That being said, we still offer to coat the crossover, but you will be responsible for sanding or dremeling the slip fits enough to get it togethor. Also, anything that is catted can not be flow coated on the inside. So if you order a catted X-pipe coated..it will only be coated on the inside.

I got my Kooks 6600-EX coated from you. I agree on the 7/8 chrome, I actually was surprised at how shiny they looked in sunlight. However, once on and you look under the hood, they appear more 4/8's chrome look, probably because less direct light on them.

It also appears Jet Hot cleans the oil and shavings from the inside before coating them, but only with a camera snaked inside could one tell for sure...am hoping for "Up Close Jet Hot" Part 2 video soon of that!
