Default Cold Air Intake

Does adding a cold air intake to my new 07 c6 void the warranty? I am looking at the snake charmer! Are there any problems with water entering the intake during rainy weather? Does the intake block too much air from the radiator? Will tuning after install of the cold air intake make a difference or not? I am new at after market intakes. Thanks for any help you can give me!

Did you install yourself or have it done?

It shouldn't and if it does I believe you can easily fight it, especially if the part/parts getting repaired are totally unrelated to the CAI.

None at all.

No, blocks very little air if any at all.

It can help yes but is not totally necessary until you get other mods...even some tuning on a pure stock car can help performance though.

No problem, you have to start somewhere, you're very welcome, good luck.

No way, unless they could prove that engine damage was caused directly by your intake system.

I have it, and I love it! Like Nightstalker mentioned in another post, you won't notice anything at the dyno, but on the freeway you will.....fun stuff!

I would highly advise the Callaway Honker

Here it is pictured on the Supercharged 2008 Test & Development car.

Bowmanized who is a Callaway authorized dealer and he recently posted detailed specs on the Callaway Honker (added below).

BTW, this subforum is proudly sponsored by Callaway Cars.

Callaway Air Intake

Increases airflow by 34 percent. Adds 12 bhp in stock LS2's.

The Honker C6 provides reduced airpath restriction, accesses cooler air from outside of the engine compartment, and locates the air entry at a higher-than-ambient pressure area (relative to vehicle speed) to generate increased horsepower.

• Smooth internal surface and CAD-designed contours engineered to maximize laminar flow.
• Rigid filter element base ingests cooler, denser inlet air from outside of engine compartment.
• Easy-to-install duct attaches to OEM mounting locations at top of radiator support.
• OEM-grade polymer remains unaffected by severe under-hood temperature excursions.
• Low-restriction K&N filter element is washable and reusable for reliable service.
• Supports additional engine and vehicle modifications.
• Works with all OEM engine management sensors.
• Premium quality hardware used throughout for extended durability.

Dyno testing verified the airflow test results, indicating an increase of 12 bhp on an otherwise stock LS2! At the dragstrip, simply bolting a Honker into a stock 2005 coupe dropped its 1/4-mile ET by three full tenths and increased top speed by 2 mph!

The Honker C6 System includes CAD-designed air inlet duct, low restriction, washable and reusable K&N air filter element, rigid filter element housing, comprehensive installation instructions, and all required hardware for easy installation.

A fellow Corvette owner installed a honker on his already stout LS2 and picked up 15rwhp at the wheel. Keep in mind this car had EVERYTHING modded already before the CAI.

Please let me know if you're interested.

You may just want to ask your local service manager to see if they are going to hassle you. I doubt it. You would have submerge the front end to water lock the engine.
