clicking sound behind radio
I have A 06 C6 A6 while sitting still in park with the engine running when you put your foot on the brake pedal there is a clicking sound behind the radio. It sounds like a relay opening and closing.it just does it when you put your foot on the brake. You can not do it any other way. It only clicks once then you have to take your foot off the brake and do it again.Dealership reports it is from a weak radio signel. help

This car has very noisy relays in it. I can always hear mine when I push in the brake, the clutch, or start the car. Nothing wrong, just the way they are designed, although I don't think that the relays are behind the radio.
As far as your dealer, he is full of crap and does not seem to have a knowledge of basic physics. Unless the clicking sound is coming from a SPEAKER or otherwise amplified device, there is no possible way that a radio signal, particularly a weak one, could cause audible noise to be emitted from electrical equipment.

You sure it's not the shifter interlock? Your shifter has an interlock to prevent you from coming out of park unless your foot is on the brake. This will click with engine off ignition on too, try it since you won't have the engine noise and you might be able to pin point the sound better to the console area.
All autos have had this since the 90's thanks to the Audi 60 minutes "unintended acceleration" debacle.

you need dealer ecm update
had this problem and it was a relay clicking. the difference between this situation and the click tied to the brake is that this will start clicking and keep doing it. it is a relay and i believe is tied to the key fob issue and does indicate a low battery.

I heard the same thing on my '08 A6. The sound is coming from the shifter area and it is the shifter lock allowing you to shift from park to another gear. Have someone else press on the brake while you place your ear near the gear selector and you'll see what I mean.

I wanted to bring this back up- I have an 05 and today it started to do the same thing- every time I took my foot off the brake or every time the turn signal was on, it would make an audible clicking sound from behind the radio like a relay going off (no, not the flasher...). If I turned the lights on, it would stop.
First thing I thought was a weak battery, but it went away with the lights on- which should make things worse. My voltage was around 14.2-14.3 when this was happening too.
By the time I got back home, it stopped doing it. Any more ideas what it could be? Thanks.

My vote: That's Normal
Every time I put my foot on/off the brake pedal I can hear the brake relay clicking in the passenger footwell on my '07 MN6.

this was a LOUD relay clicking right behind the radio somewhere. It would make two fast clicks every time I'd lift my foot off the brakes and really went berserk with the turn signals. Odd..

If you hold in the shifter lock out button, and apply light rearward pressure on the shifter when you hit the brake you can actually feel the park lock release.
It only does this when you are in the park position, because this is the only time the shifter lock needs to be released.

Reviving an old thread...
Did we ever figure this out? Does an ECM fix at the dealer resolve the problem? Is my new battery low? My week-old '09 MN6 clicks as mentioned above.
My external rear hatch button doesn't work, either...

Clicking
I have a 08 C6 6m and I just noticed this about a week ago after 6 months of driving. I always have the tunes up and windows down to hear the Corsa Sports, but it was in the 40's that morning so windows were up and heard it when I pulled out of the garage.
The sound seems to originate more toward the passenger side footwell. I've not notice any issues with the battery or FOB. So, I have to say it's on the normal side.
Thanks, Dewman

my 05 had it also but it would make that noise for a day
or so then stop for a week, then go back to making that same
clicking noise. But it started with your foot on the brake at
traffic lights, then would start while you were driving.
I also had a very faint light flicker, of my interior lights.
Started not to complaign, but figured while they had the car
might as well look at it. they replaced my altenator.
Niose is gone, i would have not guessed that ,
