http://www.sears.com/shc/s/p_10153_1...Lift+Equipment

Craftsman 4000 lb. Capacity Aluminum Jack
Sears item# 00950239000 Mfr. model# 50239

That jack is prone to problems. I've had one for about 2.5 mostly trouble free years (i'd like to replace the hydraulic cylinder), but there have been quite a few recorded failures.

Personally, I called Sears about the problem I had when the jack was about 15 months old (out of warranty after a year) and they basically told me to pound sand.

I'd recommend this one:

Craftsman Professional 3 ton Aluminum Floor Jack
Sears item# 00950244000 Mfr. model# 50244

It's a little more pricey, but should last longer.

Hope this helps,
Alan

Alan's right -

Check Sears.com owner reviews on that particular jack! Though it looks really nice, it has a TERRIBLE failure rate. I had two of them fail out of the box before I forced them to refund my money.

The 'Professional' model may fair better in real-world use, but it's a new model, so Buyer Beware at Sears.

I've had the 2 ton jack for 2.5 years. The last 6 months it has started to leak hydraulic fluid.

I took my recalled jack in a few weeks ago and exchanged it for a bigger one. I did not see any 1.5 tons on the shelf, so I asked for the bigger model #50239.
