Default 06 Z51 0-60 Times

I am baffled by my 0-60 estimates. I have used a stopwatch to check 0-60 times and the best I can get is in the 6 second range. It doesn't matter where the traction system is set/sport mode/or using paddle shifters. I have an 06 Z51 auto w/paddle shifter and was expecting sub-5 second times. Any ideas???

It's so hard to get an accurate reading with a stopwatch, especially while you're driving. It's also VERY hot out right now.

I also have an '06 A6 and based upon my best sixty foot and 1/8th mile times when it was still stock, the online calculators claimed that it ran a 3.45 second 0-60 time. I personally think that that's a little optimistic but this car was definitely running to 60mph in under 4 seconds on my stock 12.2 second 1/4 mile passes.
Yours will do the same once the cooler weather comes back.

Default 08 0-60

I have a 08 Z51 auto and a G-Tech . Best I've gotten was 4.09 a couple of times.

I guess I will have to get out my G-Tech and see. What is a good weight estimate to use?

Just take it to the drag strip. There are no 0-60 race tracks that I know of. The timeslip will let you know how fast you went in the 1/8th and/or 1/4 mile.

The g-tech confirmed the stopwatch at around 6.0 seconds with a weight of 3500 lbs. I went ahead and did the 1/4 mile pass and it read 14.24@105 with traction completely off. The car does not feel down on power or run rough, but the numbers seem to be off.

My concern is that I can't be two seconds off with a stopwatch. G-Tech and stopwatch both read around 6 seconds plus/minus 2 tenths.

Are you brake torqueing the car at all or just nailing it from idle? The heat is also a big factor as well as your elevation. If your in Colorado I understand the times. Seems a bit slugish to me.. Go race somebody and see where you stack up!

blakedill, fill out your profile so we know what area you are in... or at least tell us.

You should be doing much better than the times you provided. If your performance does not improve and you are still under warranty, I would get it to a dealership. If it is out of warranty, then time to go to a good speed shop and have them take a look.

, either the stopwatch is off or you are in need of a new engine or some performance mods.

I agree. Try replacing the stopwatch. If that doesn't work, begin the build on a new LS7. I don't see any other way. YEE HAAW@!!

I am in Abilene, TX. Not a very high elevation, but it has been 95+ degrees. I don't think this would slow me down as much as the stopwatch says. Also, I am just nailing it from a stop (no braked launches).

Reducing your rear tire pressure will help.
Remember, the street is not exactly traction city.

I haven't had traction issues until today when the car broke loose in traffic.

i think everyone is forgetting how slow 14.5 is for a quarter mile. my front wheel drive GTI with terrible tires does 14.7

stock turbo, about 240bhp. FWD!

perhaps a clutch problem?

replacing the stop watch was the worst idea.
