Finally got the new motor in!!! LS3 427 aka El Torro Grande
Hello everyone, just wanted to share my new smile maker
I just completed the installation of the Scoggin Dickey motor, and I LOVE it. The guys there were very proffesional and knowlegable. Brian was the main guy I spoke with there, but I think I ended up speaking with everyone at least once.
I had them put whole new L92 heads and LS7 intake, TB, with fuel rails. The motor was backed up with the SPEC stage 3 clutch.
New Slave cylinder with the throwout bearing was also installed.
I already had the LT's with the 3" x-pipe and Flowmaster exhaust.
I wanted to get the DTE brace but everyone seemed to be out of them. I guess I can always get it installed later, after all, I feel like I am getting to be a Pro at droping the rear end completely and also the dropping the K-member (both of which were time consuming, but definetly doable... got bunch of info on CF forums).
The engine is awesome, here are some details...
427ci L92 "El Toro Grande" Short Block Assembly Specifications:
Cylinder Block: L92 Aluminum, 6 Bolt Main, 4.068" Bore
Crankshaft: Eagle 4340 Forged Steel, 4.100" Stroke
Connecting Rods: Scat 6.125", 4340 Forged, H-Beam
Pistons: Manley Dished Pistons, -8cc
Piston Rings: Akerly & Childs Ductile Moly
Camshaft: Not Included
Timing Set: HD Single Row
The cam is 238/246 596/615 and it sounds great!!!
We started it this Friday and its time for the break-in period
Will let you all know progress as I will dyno it and such...

I promise I will get the video on here soon, It was a great hit at a local hangout, everyone seemed to be looking at it and listening to the lobing of the cam. They also recorded it on their phones So needless to say, I was easy to recognize, I was like a 16yr old kid with a ear-to-ear smile...
The rear is still the stocker... will be ordering the DTE stage 3 after the break-in time. The DTE brace seemed to just protect the tranny (got the info on here )
