Tuning for E10
Now that my area has 10% Ethanol I'm interested in finding out if I can tweak my tune to give me either better performance or better MPG than I'm currently getting on a E0 tune.
E10 has a lower stoic than gas, from my limited research I think it's 14.0 or so vs 14.68 for gas (about 4.5% lower). Unfortunately it also has less BTU's of energy..but it has higher octane, around 112.
Actually my WOT AFR tuning is on E10 since that's all I can buy - but I've got it tuned to 12.6. I wonder if making it richer, say 12.0 (4.5% lower) would give me more power?
I've also got my car VE and Maf tuned to have close to 0 ltft's driving around, but my Stoic is set to stock. Anybody try setting it to 14.03 or so for E10? What did it do to MPG?

You said it yourself: It has less energy than gasoline, so you will have to burn more of it to go the same distance. Seeing as E10 is 89 to 93 octane, there is ZERO gas mileage advantage to be had by running it as opposed to non oxygenated high octane gas.

Yes, that is true.
And part of the Carbon Dioxide produced by the production of Ethanol is re-absorbed by the plans used to produce it as they grow (had to read up on all that stuff for our business plan).
But he asked about a gas mileage advantage. And there is none.

What about performance? Seems I might be better off going richer...to 12.0 or so from 12.6 where I like to run. i did not even try going richer on the dyno, I went leaner to 13.0 and made less power..
