I might be lucky *knocks on wood* , but I've never been pulled over for not having a front license plate. I just keep my front tag in the car with me in a holder but not mounted on the car. The Austin police haven't said anything so far. I've been driving around a little over a year like this.

Cops in San Antonio havnt bothered me at all about it. They dont seem to waste their time with it. But heading south along 181 i have been pulled over once and got a warning. I cant recall if it was a HW and city cop, its been a couple years. But, id rather pay a ticket then put a plate covering the front of my car

HB 561 has been stalled since 2/23/09, however, there might be a reason because HB 309 is identical and is supported two state reps and has progressed to public hearing. Check the below link, if any of these reps are out of your area give them your support.

I've been pulled over 3 times in the last 5 years for no front plate. So far, knock on wood, all resulted in warnings. Two of those were by a DPS officer. The last time it happened, a DPS trooper pulled a U-turn on Hwy 90 just to pull me over for no front plate. Luckily he gave me a warning, but it still pisses me off that he went out of his way to stop me when I counted multiple other cars pass by without a front plate as he was writing me a warning. I was Car-acially profiled.

Find your TX state rep here..
http://www.house.state.tx.us/members/welcome.php
Email sent to my rep.
If you are in TX you should do the same.
No way they will support unless YOU TELL THEM TO.

There have been numerous tests (do a search) and it's a known fact that C6's run faster on less fuel with no front plate. JK.....It is a damn shame to have to mess up the lines of beautiful car with an ugly plate. I put mine on just to not have the untimely misfortune of an unscheduled stop. Sometimes those guys have no sense of humor.

No front plate law in Oklahoma. My daughter lives in Dallas and she has gotten pulled over once for no front plate on her Lexus, no ticket he just told her that she needs to put it on. I think the difference here is she is 25 years old and very attractive.

Oh and yeah I got pulled over last week for both front License plate and speeding and just got a warning on both. Now that is just plain luck.

309 Withdrawn from schedule 03/30/2009
and 561 is still sitting there, don't know what gives no explanation of why the bill was withdrawn from public hearing schedule.
