Best tire for DD A&A Supercharged A6 on stock wheel?
What's the best tire for a daily driven A&A Supercharged A6 (estimating 500rwhp) on stock wheel? Traction & tread life are probably most important, has to be able to drive well in rain (not often here in Texas, but still has to have traction when it does rain), needs to have good handling, and I'm looking for W, Y or Y+ rated tires (I have a convertible so top speed I'll go in it out of fear of wrecking & death will probably be 150).
Update: I decided to keep my stock wheels and go with Nitto Invo 305/30R-19XL and Nitto Invo 275/35ZR-18
I'm looking for these sizes:
255x35x18 (front)
295x30x19 (rear)
Here are some that I'm thinking of for the front:
Potenza RE050A Pole Position - $202/ea.
Goodyear Eagle F1 All Season - $213/ea.
BF Goodrich g-Force T/A KDW - $218/ea.
Michelin Pilot Sport A/S Plus - $260/ea.
And for the rear:
Toyo Proxes 4 - $247/ea.
Bridgestone Potenza RE960 AS Pole Position - $304/ea.
Any suggestions?

Nitto Invo are the best of both worlds, Good rain tire and great in the dry weather. I think your going to Dallas Performance to get your AA install. Look for Mr. Big's corvette (white w/black strip). He run invo and the last I heard swears by them, and he has a lot more HP. I have heard only good thing about them.
Congratulation on the AA SC. When is the install taking place??

As of Feb. 26 this year, I'm a father.
So Nitto Tires INVO 255/35ZR18 94W for the front.
Will Nitto Tires INVO 305/30ZR19 102Y fit on my stock rear? Or will I have to get Nitto Tires INVO 285/30ZR19 98W ? I can't seem to find 295s.

Thanks
So the stock wheels are 18x8.5 front, 19x10 rear - right?
Will 18x9.5 front and 19x10.5 rear fit my stock C6 (no wide body, not a z06)? I'm looking at these:
http://www.discounttire.com/dtcs/fin...WMTG&rc=TCCINT
Specifically 18x9.5 5-112 35C for front, 19x10.5 5-130 55C for rear.
And then what size tires would I want to run, front/rear?

Anyone know if 18x9.5 5-112 35C for front, 19x10.5 5-130 55C for rear, will fit a stock c6? :-\
Or maybe...
18x9.5 for the front:
http://www.slickcar.com/productdetai...ProductID=3353
18x10.5 for the rear:
http://www.slickcar.com/productdetai...ProductID=3355
Will these stick out on my stock c6? What's the maximum tire size I could go with, without anything sticking out?

Ok after reading some more posts, maybe the stock wheels aren't so great if you're trying to put more than 440-450rwhp to the ground.
So I'm thinking of:
CCW SP16A 18x9.5 Front
275/35 BFG T/A KDW NT
CCW SP16A 18x11 Rear
305/35 Nitto NT 555R Drag Radials
How does this sound? I won't have fitment issues if I go with CCWs, so I read. Both of the tires are Y rated, whereas the 275s available from Nitto are only W rated. So I'm thinking the mix and match is an OK idea...

You should read this post. Especially the part about what you have to do to run 18's on the rear. http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c6-t...and-video.html

I read that post, but the control arm needing shaved doesn't seem to be a problem that everyone has. Per spin's thread, "The 11in wide rim will touch the upper control arm when the car is fully jacked up but in 300 miles has never touched the control arm in harsh use including speed bumps, steep driveway threasholds and displacement at speed." And moving the rear brake duct is simple enough, if need be.

Toyo R888's in 265/35/18 and 305/30/19 or if you want a little more tread life then go with the Invos in those same sizes. It's a tough choice for a daily driver.

from every thing I have read they will fit on stock wheels, just not recommended. I was going to go that route. but decided to do it right and found a set of stock front wheels and will have them widened, but I may just go 10 3/4" due to the slight rubbing problem. i don,t think the 1/4 on the wheel will be a problem with the 305/35/18.s, I know what you are going through trying to decide which way to go, but I think the 18,s are a better choice in the end, my ecs supercharger is on the way. what ever you decide make sure its what you want, its cheaper to do it right the first time rather than doing twice because it wasn,t what you wanted in the first place.

Since the wife probably wouldn't approve of new wheels, and since I don't drag or track the car, I decided to stick with my stock wheels.
Monday I'll have discount tire co. put on some Nitto Invo 305/30R-19XL 102Y BW and Nitto NT 555 Extreme Performance 265/35ZR-18 93W B. $1192 installed w/tax.
Guess this thread can be closed.
