Default Z06 manifold/cats on car already with stock H-pipe????

My car currently has BB bullets with PRT mid-pipe. I am looking at Z06 manifolds and cats.

I have found many threads where people install the whole Z06 system or they install the Z06 manifolds, cats, and H-pipe but I couldn't find anything where the H-pipe wasn't installed. I want just manifolds and cats.

I don't need or want the Z06 H-pipe. I already have that with my BB X-pipe.

I know the Z06 cat pipe is 3" and my BB X-pipe is 2.5" so my question is:

What is the best way to reduce this? Cut the cat pipe or cut my BB X-pipe?

The BB X-pipe is stainless steel so I hate to cut that.........and that will screw me if I want to sell my BB exhaust in the future.

Anybody ever install Z06 manifolds on a car with stock (or same as stock) H-pipe???

I just installed the manifolds, cat and h-pipe, Save your x-pipe for resale. You should get everything when you buy the Z06 exhaust. I just reduced the H-pipe to fit my NPP. That way you have3" all the way back to the mufflers.

Interesting. My BB rear section is still 2.5 though so even with the Z06 H-pipe I would still reduce down to 2.5". I really didn't want to go the route of have to buy a whole exhaust. I just want a header solution.

Most people won't just sell the manifold, You should be able to get everything for the same price. I bought the full exhaust with mufflers and sold the mufflers. I also got a great price. Just start looking
I had my manifolds jet hot coated, they look great!

Anyone? I just want to know if it is possible. I just need to cut the cat pipes right and weld on a 2.5 flange, right? How much will a shop charge to do this?

This has been done so many times, I think people are tired of saying "have you used the search".

This should probably go to the FAQ section (MODS)

Z06 manifolds
Z06 Cats
Z06 H-Pipe cut midpoint with the C6 H-pipe welded to it
Flowmaster 3" to 2.5" merge pipes
BB Route 66 catback (2.5" inlets)

LG charged me about $125 to cut/weld the H-pipe

Sell your Xpipe, pick up a stock H-Pipe and a Z06 HPipe (the stock one is almost a give-away)
