Default C6 Z51 brake replacement help

My 2007 C6 Z51 is ready for rotors and brake pads. My car does not go to the track but it does enjoy high spirited canyon drives. I am considering the DBA 4000XS drilled/slotted for the front and rear. For brake pads what is your opinion? Hawk HPS, Carbotech Bobcat 1521 or ?????????

Thanks in advance,
Nikka

I upgraded my Challenger with dba slotted/drilled rotors along with Hawk ceramic pads. I also added braided steel brake lines and flushed and refilled with Motul brake fluid. No tracking of the car just wanted better stopping and I'm very happy with the results.

If you don't mind the squeal (sounds like a school bus)
Then I'd use Hawk HP+ much better grip and great life

I would recommend the Carbotech Bobcats pads. Very good stopping power and virtually no dust. I've heard realy good things about the DBA 400.

I just installed the DBA 4000 slotted rotors (for track use only). They look great. I keep the drilled rotors for street use only and I have 54,000 miles and my OEM pads still have life left in them so I haven't changed them yet. If you are looking at just street use, be carefull of using to aggressive a pad. You want to make sure you get pads that will have good bite in cooler temps and the noise and dust can be a pain in the ###. I had a set of rear race pads I left on because I was too lazy to chang them back and they were sooooooooooo loud I sent the pads back. I wouldn't even use them on the track.

Nikka, the dba rotors will be great for you, on the other hand

I would hate for you to spend that kind of $$$ on rotors and have them eaten up by the HPS.

The Carbotech Bobcat 1521™ is our high performance street compound that is our most successful compound. The Bobcat compound is known for its awesome release and modulation, along with unmatched rotor friendliness. Like our AX™ & XP™ line of compounds, Bobcat 1521™ is a Ceramic based friction material offering minimal rotor damage and non corrosive dust. Bobcat 1521™ offers outstanding performance, even when cold, low dusting and low noise with an excellent initial bite. This compound’s virtually perfect linear torque production provides incredible braking force without ABS intervention. Bobcat 1521™ operating range starts out at ambient and goes up to 900°F. Bobcat 1521™ is suitable for ALL street cars, perfect for your tow vehicle, police cruiser, and has won multiple SCCA Solo 2 and Prosolo National Championships. The Bobcat 1521™ compound has been found to last two-three times longer than OE pads you can purchase at a dealership or national retailer. Bobcat 1521™ compound has also been found to extend the life of your rotors 2-3 times. That’s one of the beauties of Carbotech Ceramic brake compounds. Bobcat 1521™ is NOT recommended for any track use.

HPS pads don't chew rotors up. At any rate, if you're looking to buy Hawk's I'd be happy to help you out with the least expensive price.

We have a set of low mileage ones.. less than 8000 miles you can have for $180 OR we have brand new ones for only $379.99 delivered to your door!

Also, we have the LOWEST SHIPPED price for Hawk pads and I would recommend the HPS for you

Here's a set of them installed on a car with TPS powder coated calipers. Who else would like a set? If your needing a new set of rotors here's a great upgrade to the stock units! Get a better product for less money than the stock units!
