Default C6 Roaring when wanted/exhaust cutouts rear exit Sound Youtube

A little project I dreamed up. I wanted to get a little roar when I wanted and not when I wanted. My car is a 2005 C6 LMB vert with A4 automatic with A&A Supercharger, 1 3/4 Kooks longtube headers, cats and Magnaflow cat back. I mounted the switch on the bottom of dash panel below the trunk release and fuel door switch and its not seen. I cut everything and a friend of mine did the welding. The car has a rumlbe but I wanted roar so hers it is, Pypes collectors and cutouts (Summit Racing).

ROARRRRRRRR

Added Y pipe here

Cut off pipe and made Y

Made a RT and LT

Installed drivers side

All

Rear view

That is a GREAT idea you had and nice craftsmanship!

I've been running cutouts for 4 years now, they are one of my favorite mods. Quiet most of the time but loud when I want it to be. When I put in the cam the cutouts gave me 6 rwhp....your design should give more than that, particularly with the blower and HP level you are at.

Here's mine, I think yours must flow a lot more than mine. Very nice design you came up with.

And you just cannot beat the sound of cutouts in my opinion.

Great mod!

Here are the pics my of my Swedish friend Hakan's (XZB here on the forum) cutouts on an automatic trans blown 2005 convertible...

Some fine Swedish craftsmanship there!!

But be glad you live in America...he has to put on "permanent" caps each year when he goes in for his inspection...and he has to take off his blower....God Bless America!

What is it with us guys with Blue 05 Convertible Vettes and our love of cutouts?????????

thats a great design, its allows you to use a cutout without heating up the tranny.

I had the QTP cut-out on my Camaro and liked the control.

Do you think the cut-outs provide a measurable gain over switching to the Z06 or NPP mufflers and running them open?

Given that my cutouts only gave me 6 rwhp across the board on the dyno open or closed (with stock mufflers) I'm guessing that they would be about the same as NPP/Zo6.

That said, I'm at 450 rwhp. I had zero effect at 386 rwhp. I'm pretty sure the positive effect of the cutouts matter more as the HP goes up.

Mine were 8-10hp at 435rwhp, on my z06 over many dynos. They do help a bit, but, darn, they are loud! I went with the Maryland speed low profile ones.
