Passenger Windshield Wiper arm attachment
On a 2007 does the passenger windshield wiper arm pull to a vertical postion to change the blade? The driver one does but the attachement for the pax one is different and doesn't allow this? I wonder if I have an incorrect arm?

I think your wiper arms are fine, the passenger's side arm does not lift all the way up and lock in that position like the driver's side does, it is spring loaded but only lifts up a little bit.

Thank you
The Owners Mnual unfortunately isn't very clear on how far it should come from the windshield, just looking for a response from someone lese with a 2007 who confirmed that the passenger side one does not come up properly like the driver's side (still think that is poor engineering but..).

That passenger wiper arm is a giant PITA, and Chevy should be horsewhipped for not making it lift up like the driver's side.

Even though it is a hassle, I'm thinking it could actually be a small stroke of genius as well...if the passenger side could be held in that 'folded up' position it is possible that if someone were to accidentally hit the wipers on the blade could come down and gouge/scratch the hood perhaps?
This might not apply to the driver's side because that one would swing to the outside further and maybe clear the hood on it's way back...just throwin' an idea out there.

Well, my wipers don't lift any more than yours. Yes, the arm is restricted in lifting off the windshield. It might be that way to not flap like hell at 180 MPH, Ya think?

Retired & lovin' it!
Turn on ignition to Accessory position.....turn on wipers.....turn ignition Off when passenger wiper reaches full right position (gotta' be quick). Arm is now in convenient position to change the blade. And no, you do not have an incorrect arm....all C6's are same.

Thanks for alll the comments. I got the wiper blade changed no problems, just thought it was a bad design. Still not convinced to the rationale but at least I know it's not just some wrong part on my car!

Hum. What am I missing? My wipers look nothing like the diagram above. I have an 06 with a pivot post and click type assembly. I have changed camshafts, oil pumps, intakes etc. can't for the life of me figure out how to get this blade assembly off lol

Solution
There us no need to even open your hood to change out either wiper. Look for a small tab that acts as a locking mechanism where your wiper attaches to the wiper arm. Depress the lock and your wiper assembly will slide right out. Hope this helps. I replaced mine tonight! See the locking tab "c" on eboggs jkvl's diagram above!
