Default Stock Ported LS3 manifold vs Ported Fast 102

i have a full bolt on cammed c6 making 476rwhp and 410rwtq.

im planning to do my heads also and was wondering should i just have my Stock ls3 and throttle body ported or should i go with a Ported Fast 102 and nick williams 102 throttle body.

will there a big gain with the Ported Fast 102 and nick williams 102 throttle body over the Ported LS3 manifold and stock throttle body or should i just save my money and go with the heads and ported ls3 manifold.

thanks

The FAST will probably not pick up a lot of peak power over the ported LS3, but you will pick up very nice power under the curve.

Personally I'd stick with a stock ported TB rather than going to a 102 (would rather spend the money elsewhere).

When you say you would opt for a ported throttle body ... are you talking about a throttle body with a larger diameter throttle blade in it?

I got almost zero gain from just smoothing the opening of a stock TB on an LS1 heads, headers, cam car before.

If you want more airflow from the TB ... you need to get a TB with a larger diameter blade in it.

LS2's pick up a bunch, GM fixed the intake on the LS3. I am putting LS3 heads on my LS2 and have a FAST 102 just because I think i want it. If I didn't already have it I would have bought an LS3 intake and been very happy after having it ported.

Ive seen results showing three very well known porters "ported" ls3 intakes loose power to stock.

If it were me the only choice would be stock or FAST. I have the FAST on mine, I researched and have 5-6 decent graphs all showing gains over stock.

I was saying that if he's set on a TB upgrade I'd just have the stock one ported for cheap and call it a day. You'll pick up all of the throttle response at a good price. There's little power to be had from a TB on these cars except for probably pretty radical builds. The 90mm TB isn't a great restriction on mild setups and money can be better spent elsewhere.

has anyone ever drag tested a Fast intake on a stock or near stock ls3 and seen an improvement? dyno improvements are nice but if there is no improvment at the track it doesn't mean much.
