Yes but the cradle needs to be dropped so the engine must be braced from above. The factory manual calls for a bunch of expensive tools to do this. Check this thread on a modifed harbor freight engine brace that will help to do this. You could also use an engine hoist but is more riskly if the hoist fails.

Here is a link where I had to swap the craddle and used a hoist. The hoist only held the engine for maybe 5-10 mins and my body was never under the engine. Not sure if I would feel ok using this method for a pan change unless I could lock the hoist and not rely on the hydraulics.
