2006 Convertible trunk lid won't unlock completely
Have been down this road before a while back and now wondering if there is something new out there. Trunk lid latch does not completely disengage using fob or dash release button. Lid pops up partially but lock doesn't release on first try. I have cleaned and lubed the struts. I have adjusted the positions of the active and passive lock components. I have adjusted the height of the lid bumpers. All fixes work temporarily but lid reverts back to old ways. Any new products or solutions out there?

Larry,
Just a thought. My deck lid pops up a little over 1/2 inch at center line and it clears the lock. If yours is less than that when you actuate the lock, one or both of the gas struts may have lost pressure. I should think that replacing them would not be too expensive.

Thanks Bill. I was trying to avoid the cost of struts. It may come to that if the assist spring I just ordered does not work. See thread below yours for what I am referring to.
Thanks again.
Thanks again.
