I'd pay good money if someone would develop a plug and play option like Corvettes of Houston did for the C5....that was super simple to install.

Super. Let us know if it works without the motor if you ever try it.

I have the same problem with my 2005 Z51 MN6 due to heat. Solution: www.corvetteworldparts.com they have a CLB for 89.95. No ripping the column apart and soldering wires and such. Includes instructions. Also a video on their web site. Takes about a half an hour to install. Must use the same great idea as mbomba. My thinking is they use solid state relays to outsmart the computer into thinking the motor is still there. will post if this is successful.

I bought my bypass kit from Corvettes of Houston last September. It works as advertised and was easy to install.

Does this only pertain to the 2005 with manual or are other corvettes having this problem too. i.e. automatics? Other years?

I'll be trying this if replacing my original nine-year-old battery does not fix my Service Column Lock warning on the DIC... I'm keeping the battery alive by battery tender... DOH!

Fix has been in place for a whole month now. No problems what so ever. Just wanted to add that you will have to remove other blue plug on right side of DIC. Gauge cluster can just be swung towards drivers door after you pull it out to the steering wheel. Most important thing is to TAKE YOUR TIME.

Mine's been on since the introduction of the COH bypass solution and I've never had any issues after I installed it. Best $100 I spent.

Haven't been on the forum but I still have the car and no column lock issues after the module install. Used to be a garage queeen but she's been my daily driver for the past 3 years also, again no issues.

Thanks. I will contact them tomorrow.

Glad to see you are driving her; now catch me if you can...

My steering column lock just went bonkers and now I can't drive her. Will the Corvette Column lock bypass work even if the lock is already broken?
