Default I'm trying to understand the fuel system

I don't fully understand how the fuel system works on my '11 GS. It has 2 fuel tanks on it. Im guessing that the left tank fills up first, then when it gets full, it runs over into the fuel cross tube then fills the right side. We would have to have 2 fuel pumps then, right? Which side empties first, or do they both pump together?
I know running low on fuel on a standard car with one tank is bad for your fuel pump, because the fuel is what keeps the fuel pump cool. If one side empties before the other, then is one pump running with no fuel in the tank to keep it cool?
I'm also trying to think ahead for winter. I want to put a fuel stabilizer in it. Here in SD the car may have to sit for about 5 months. How would I treat both tanks equally? Thanks everyone!

Everything you want to know and more:

just run the car for awhile and it will circulate the fuel stabilizer throughout both tanks

Although this link tells you it's for a 2003-2004 Corvette, this is exactly how your C6 fuel system works....
