Underdrive Harmonic Balancer Question
The harmonic balancer on my 2006-C6-A6 has begun to wobble, and I am contemplating replacing it with a Powerbond 25% UNDERDRIVE harmonic balancer.
With the new underdrive harmonic balancer, my alternator will now run slower. Because of this, will my alternator voltage drop and cause problems?
What have you guys experienced?
Thank you for your help.

We make car batteries, I had that concern as well. The voltage was OK at idle with the underdrive pulley, but I was not able to look at the amperage.
If it is a daily driver I am not sure I would do it.
Just my opinion.

OP: I had these item installed when my 07 Vet had the wobbles.

The 07 Vet now has over 120,000 miles on it and running strong.
Good luck with your mods!

Keep in mind you can always order a 10% UD which I installed (and have no problems what so ever).
Or you can purchase a stock size (7.4") Powerbond pulley as well.

With a UD pulley, typically more miles is better. Charging problems can occur at idle, which happens when you are stopped. Lots of miles typically means the car is moving and well into the charging range.
The other thing to think about with a UD pulley and stock idle speed is the A/C. On a hot day in heavy city traffic spent waiting for red lights to change, the A/C can be less than satisfying. Just like the charging issue, the more the car is moving the less you'll notice any difference from stock.

I'm unsure if the 25% can be purchase with a stock size A/C pulley? OP can call Byun Speed and they can tell you.

The only concern I'd have is if you have any aftermarket electrical draws(ie stereo system) as you have an auto with a lower idle speed in gear than a manual.
