Default Buzzing sound from left of ignition button

My 08 Z06 has started making a buzzing or static like sound that is coming out of the small speaker-like opening just to the left of the ignition switch. It only does it when the car is running. It isn't very loud, but it's there. Anyone know what it is or what this small sensor or speaker is for?

It's the inside air temp sensor. I don't know anything about the sounds it's making though.

It is an aspirator for the climate control. It sucks cabin air around the thermistor. Maybe the vacuum hose is coming lose or kinked?

Actually, there is no vacuum hose on it. It's an electrical connector. If it comes loose from the mounting tabs in may be vibrating causing the noise.

Remove the plastic cover-remove the sensor and remount it further down on the steering column with some 3M tape or gorilla tape. Mine did the same thing and after relocating, it has been silent ever since. You need the sensor if you use the 'auto' feature on your a/c as it is the inside/cabin thermometer.
