Default New PB H/C/I LS2 10.73 at 133mph***VIDEO***

This weekend was opening week at Atco so I decided to take the new drag pack I aquired and try it out. Air was pretty good today, but was a little windy. First pass out car went 10.83 at 134 on a 1.70 60'. Second pass they asked me to lift to keep it in the 11's so I went 6.86 at 104 through the 1/8 on a 1.56 60'. Third pass I also lifted, but to a 7.06 at 103 pass. Fourth and final pass I decided to run it out the back and I cut a 1.60 60' and went 10.73 at 133mph with a nice invitation to the tower. Not to shabby for a stock clutch.

That was potentially a 10.6x pass.

Way to go my stock clutch brother!!

133 is really fast. You have 5 mph on me from that bigger cam and TF 225 heads. That is the hot setup these days.

Got any vids?

Nice RUNS!! What pressures are you running in you drag radials??
Im hoping for similar results and avoiding that talk once I get my cam only ls3 back on the track... Need to get my GTO spares bored out and mounted, but once I do Ill be headed to Atco as well
Seems like theres a lot of guys who head there... We should try to set up a meet there for some runs with everyone!

As far as avoiding that talk, ive heard its smart to run NO TIME as its not attracting attention?? Also, I was thinking of spending some time mastering my launch, 60 foot times, and shutting it down around the 1/8 mile mark... Once I feel I got that mastered and get a run where it all feels perfect, then making the full run in case they chase me out!

True, assuming that his stock clutch (and everything else) cooperated for the entire pass of course.

Stock clutches going strong. It doesn't slip at all, but the pedal will stick to the floor after a pass though.

I do have video but have to upload it to my laptop.

I was running 21psi in the ET streets and they were dead hooking and 35psi in the skinnies. I am also down for a meet whenever everyone is free.

Thank you! I'm almost positive the car will go at least 10.5's on motor with more seat time and a clutch.

x2

i think once you get seat time and a clutch it will go 10.3's or 10.4's if you can run again in negative da and get that same mph. during not so great da you should be able to get 10.5's all the time.

still kills that people think the 243's and ls3 heads on an ls2 can keep up with the et and mph that the g6x3 and tf 225's get.

I completely agree these heads are just plain nasty. Everyone was asking if I had a bottle, blower, or built motor yesterday. I think cartek came the closest with their 243 heads. I have a few minor things to do like lightweight battery, cage, clutch, lighter rotors, and maybe try and squeeze another 10-15whp out her and see what she'll do. I hope to eventually try and get that 10.3-10.4 pass in some good DA.*

I think a ported/milled set of ls3's and a fast intake would come awfully close to those numbers. Im just going by our dyno numbers since we dynoed on the same dyno. Its stock made 518/468 I believe and I made 487/456 on thursday. My cam is smaller than a G6X3 and I still have the stock intake and throttle body on the car. My heads had a valve job and the bowls cleaned up but they werent ported or milled to get the compression up.

There is definitely more in the car, especially after a clutch upgrade.
Unfortunately one of the limitations with going 10.4s/10.3s in a manual C6 seems to be not only getting that launch down but also being able to do it without destroying rears and output shafts on every attempt. That's the frustrating part, we know that some drivers are capable of it and certainly the cars themselves are, it's just that snapping the rear on only the 1st or 2nd pass of the day (especially after dropping all that cash on a private track rental and new tires) gets very old very quickly.

Well, I wouldn't rule out those combos just yet either, I'd personally need to see more than barely a tenth and 1mph gap between the combos (within the C6s I mean) before I'm entirely convinced.

The TFS heads are excellent and have been performing well for years now.
But we've all seen the LS3 heads get it done (10.6s and over 133mph) as well, on the 6.2L cars at least. And those might've been achieved with less aggressive cams as well.

I have a rpm stage 3 rear hopefully it will hold. That's not to say it can't break because anything can break. I'm more worried about the stock 27 spline output shaft snapping.

someone needs to prove that worked over 243 heads or ls3 heads on an ls2 can keep up with the tf 225's at the track. i see dyno numbers here and there that say they make 500+ but have yet to see actual track data that proves it. the key phrase is "on an ls2 car", not an ls3. i just think the ls3 heads work best on the ls3 and not the ls2 until i see some track data.

i know ls3's love their own heads with a cam b/c my best friend has the best internal ls3 time
