Weighed my car tonight...
Out of pure curiosity I decided to drive over the scales when I left work tonight.
With a full tank of gas, bag of tools and two folding chairs, the car weighed 3340. (without my 210lb a$$ in it.)
I got home and weighed the junk and it was exactly 30lbs... putting total curb weight at 3310 with a full tank of gas, air compressor and small tire plug/tool kit.
The car is a base C6 with auto trans, factory rims, heated seats, HUD, nav system, etc...
There is no particular reason for this post. Strictly informational.

Wow that's pretty much what my 11 GS weighed in at.
For comparison we just scaled / weighed our shop drag car a little 90 Mustang coupe, turbocharged 310ci with a pro shifted Toploader, 2310 lbs, breakage should be minimal .

For example: the 2006 Z06 was the lightest year of any Z06 car - each successive year was heavier (if only by a few pounds), based on changing options, features, insulation, and even the dry sump oiling system. As blue tooth, leather wrap interiors, sound insulation, transmission changes, etc all progressed, the cars became heavier. Even the TR6060 transmission in the 2008's added 15 pounds alone, IIRC.
So for your informational post, you ought to list your car by year, model, transmission and trim level (ie 2012 base coupe, M6 trans with 3LT interior). And any significant aftermarket parts like wheels, headers, brakes - even sound system changes -can also create measurable changes in vehicle weights.
Do a search for the Z06 "weight" thread(s), and you'll see how much some simple mods can change things.

Actually it can just get more complicated than that...different scale calibrations can also be a factor when taking wieghts...If the scale is designed to wieght things like truckloads and what not..there could be variation....but it is still good info.

My MSO said 3,304 lbs 'shipping weight' for my '12 GS 4LT CE NPP, with obviously negligible fuel. GM brochure says 3,330 lbs, so that might include 1/4 tank on base manual version. I'm suspecting both figures are for 'base' cars, but 1LT to 4LT shouldn't add too much IMO. Furthermore, auto and manual coupes are probably a wash due to heavier dry sump offsetting the heavier tranny (auto verts should definitely be heavier than manuals due to no dry sump on those). Seems like realistically my GS is probably 3,400# with a full tank of gas. Hey, it's lighter than a Ferrari 458 Italia by 100 lbs .

well id say your 150lbs is in the auto trans, full tank of gas, and 3lt trim package

I weighed my '12 GS, 1LT, 6Spd, NPP at our local landfill at 3260 with @ 6-8 gallons, & I would love to drop another 100 lbs, just don't know where from.

My 2006 Z51 M6 with ForgeLine's, our headers, and Borla cat back tipped in at 3245 w/o me and 1/4 tank of gas.
My 2008 3LZ Z06 is currently 3178 w/o me, 1/8 tank of fuel and 100% bone stock.

I detect a bit of justified suspicion as to the 3150 lbs I reported. Heck, I was skeptical when I saw the numbers too. So in the interest of full disclosure I will add, I weighed at a truck weigh station, made for semi's. Probably not a fine instrument, and most likely "rounds off" to the nearest 10, 20... 50 lbs? Heck, I dunno. On the other hand, the car is a 2008 1LT narrow body base coupe with OEM forged & polished Gumby wheels as the ONLY option. Minimalistic as a stock C6 can get. I'd pretty much expect it to weigh 80 to 100 lbs less than a GS. 3150? Probably not. At the left side of the bell curve and probably should be dismissed.
This reminds me of a road trip when I stopped at a motel for the night. My DIC said average mpg 33... the guy next to me said "That thing must pass everything but a gas station!" I told him the facts as I knew them and got that "liar!" look for my troubles.

FWIW, the scales where I work are certified and used at least a hundred times a day. I'm confident they are extremely accurate.
My car also has an A&A supercharger on it, so that probably is good for 50lbs right there.
I think if I pulled the tool kit and air compressor from the storage compartment and had half a tank or less of fuel, I'd probably tip the scales at 3250~ish.
I can save another 15-20lbs if I swap to a smaller lightweight battery too...

So true, people hear 400hp or 430hp V8 and they immediately think 'gas guzzler'. It's a shame that so many are so uninformed.

I think you guys with C6's in the 3150 range are indeed correct...the sales mngr @ Boardwalk made the same assertion, that C6's are weighing in the mid-3100's.
