Default Reduced Engine Power

How can you disable the program that reduces engine power, so that it does not activate while you are driving?

had this problem today, driving home and out of the blue, reduced engine power, service traction system. No matter how many times I started and stopped the car, it wouldn't go away. I read about a number of things on here and started with the accelerator pedal. I found the connector, it seemed solid but I wiggled it a little bit and then started up the car. No more error message, but check engine light still on. I drove it around the block to check that the power was back and then took the cables off the battery and held them together like my service adviser at the dealer said to do to clear the codes. I don't know if it will stay fixed, but at least I seem to have power for now. I was going to head into checking the throttle body, cleaning it etc, but the error disappeared for now.

P2138 relates to accelerator pedal position sensors and was probably the reason for the REP. Always check battery first but may need a new gas pedal assembly. Check with your dealer.

My original REP problems were fixed by replacing the TB connector which apparently was damaged during engine work.

I went under there. Looks like there is a cover I have to pop off to get at the wiring of the pedal.

Might be best to let the dealer test the pedal assembly and or replace. Should you partially disassemble, etc. the car will not be drivable.

Clearing codes usually doesn't work. That code indicates there is an issue with the electronics that control engine speed. The problem can be either in the ECM, the APP or the wiring between the ECM and the APP. You have to go through the diagnostic procedure to determine where the problem is located. It may be intermittent at this time but will get worse.

Just for kicks and giggles, how old are your tire pressure monitors. Ever had them replaced or ever had them relearned. if your tires have been changed recently, you might want to have them relearned

I had the same display on the dash . I didn't check the codes but the problem was the tpm's. After relearning them the code went away and never came back.
