Default Heater blower, burning smell

Hello guys

I have problem with my c6..
Im searching for the cause of my burning smell problem since a month or two.

The smell is like a electric wire or rubber smell,
Its only noticeble when driving in the city slowly,
or going through the macdrive
The smell is coming from the blowers / heaters in the middle of the dash.

Today I disassembled my whole center console, radio bezel, odometer etc.
I found nothing that causes the smell.
So it's not coming from some wires I think.

Im a little bit affraid that the clutch is the cause
But the strange thing is, is that the clutch is working fine...
No strange behaviour, and no burning smell when reving high rpm.

The vette has only 33.000 miles ,
so it would be strange that the clutch is dying? What do you think?

The blowers in the dashboard (the 2 in the middle),
Where is the beginning of the tunnel ?
From where does the blowers sucking air in the tunnels?

If i know the answer, then I can find the location where the smell is coming from because it's only noticble when smelling into the 2 blowers.

Many thanks!

Ps. It is not a plastic bag on the exhaust

Air enters through a screen at the base of the windshield on the driver's side, goes through a cabin filter on the passenger side behind the battery, then into the HVAC system.

Make sure the cabin filter is clean and that the cover fits properly. The system tends to retain moisture condensed by the a/c, which can begin to smell musty after a while. Here's some info on that problem: http://forums.corvetteforum.com/1580768110-post46.html

One would think your clutch is OK. You can test it by flooring the gas in 5th or 6th gear and see if the rpm's flare upward suddenly rather than rise smoothly as speed increases. Usually a slipping clutch is pretty evident.

Here are the very simple steps to remove the blower motor. If not the actual problem at least it's another access point into the system that you can look through/smell.

Pop out two fasteners from the panel under the glovebox. Unplug the electrical connector. Remove 3 screws from the fan assy. and you're done.
