Default C6 Z51 Caliper Guide Pin Lubrication?

Hey all, I've been doing some road racing with my '07 C6 Z51 and noticed some threads regarding keeping the caliper guide pins lubed.

Do people pull the rubber dust boots back and rub some synth grease in there? I assume mine aren't sliding as well as they could given how hot they get on the track lately.

Thanks!
Dan

When I replaced my brake pads I got some grease at Pep Boys specifically for guide pins. I had the pins out of the calipers and greased the whole length of them and did squeeze some more into those rubber boots.

I agree with other posters here.
However I grease the guide pins with lube specifically designed for calipers every time I change pads.

I went to my local Ravenel SC chevrolet dealer to get a (small)tube of the slide rail grease. all he had was a large tub (apx 4-6 oz) of the stuff that their in-shop mechanics used. The parts guy opened the tub and pulled out appx 1/2 oz and put it in a plastic bag and said thank you. no charge ,no tax.
ill be going back to ravenel sc in the future!
