Urgent issues with 2005 Corvette (dealer can't even fix)
Hi,
I took my 2005 Corvette to the Chevy Dealer and they weren't even able to figure out what is wrong with the problem. I figured I'd give it a shot here to see if anyone knows, that way I can be the middle man and feed some information from the forums to them.
Problems:
When I drive, sometimes in the middle of driving I'll get errors that pop up and my driving will become shaky. Also, I will not be able to accelerate correctly.
Errors:
Shocks Inoperative
Service Traction Control System
Service Active Handling System
Service Fuel System
Check Engine Light is on
ABS Light is on
All of those lights come on the dashboard and all of the gauges like the fuel gauge will go into empty even though it's full.
After this issue comes on I would turn the car off and when I try to turn it back on, it won't start.
I get the car started again by resetting the codes of the car with a code resetter/reader. After I reset codes everything goes away and the car will work perfectly fine/normal for a while. It varies between hours and days, but the problem will eventually come back and it's a big hassle for me.
This happen to anyone or does anyone know why this might be happening? The dealer ran a bunch of diagnostics and said the best they've got is an educated guess that it might be the BCM that needs replacement. They said that will cost about $800 for the diagnostic, labor, part.
Let me know if you can help...I'm desperate.

Melting Slicks
You may have more than one failure. If you can determine what trouble codes your car is displaying please share with us.
The steering wheel position sensor connector had a recall to install a clip to keep it secured. If this connector became loose it could cause the service active handling light to come on.
I have seen a loose terminal/wire in a wheel speed sensor connector that caused the ABS light to come on intermittently.
The fuel system warning may be due to your inaccurate gauge reading. I'd recommend buying 2 bottles of Techron. Pour one bottle in your fuel tank and fill the tank with fuel. After you deplete the first tankful of fuel, repeat the process a second time. Deposits from the fuel can skew the fuel level sensor reading. Sometimes Techron can clean the deposits off.

Burning Brakes
Sounds like the problem I'm having. After you get past the battery and grounds, you'll probably be in my position of changing the Body Control Module which the dealer should have done today. GM customer care is on top of them making sure what they are doing. You didn't say but are you getting the communication light as well as all the messages???? It's the one in the L/H cower corner of the dash with the padlock on it. It indicates that the modules arn't communication with each other. The reason for the messages and it not starting!!!

Had the same problems with lights lighting up here and there, and replaced the battery, and all my headaches went away.
Might be weak battery. How old is your battery.
